The webcam monitoring the volcano on the Italian island of Stromboli captured the exact moment it violently erupted on Wednesday (July 3), killing one and injuring others.

In the video, the volcano violently emits streams of lava. Huge clouds of smoke cover the nearby skyline.

The eruption prompted the navy to be deployed, ready to carry a mass evacuation if needed.
