Protest Apparent Sale
of Childrens' Beds to
Border Detention Camp At issue are 1,600 mattresses
and 100 bunk beds that have
been sold to a federal contractor. The contractor is a charity
that manages some of the
southern border detention camps
currently holding migrant children. According to receipts
verified by a Wayfair
employee, the sale of the beds
total to around $200,000. More than 500 employees
have signed a petition in protest. Employees are also
planning a walkout for
Wednesday at the company's
headquarters in Boston. Representative Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., tweeted
her support for the walkout. Wayfair stocks
fell by more than
5% on Tuesday.
