We now connect to a foreign affairs correspondent at Euronews in Hungary... to hear about the latest developments regarding the deadly accident straight from Hungary.
For that, Zoltan SIPOSHEGYI now joins us through skype.
Thank you for joining us.
Q1. Let’s start off with the latest update on the search and rescue operation. We were seeing heavy rain causing strong currents on the Danube River... hampering the rescue operations over night. How are the weather conditions now and what are you hearing now about the rescue efforts?
Q2. It’s still unclear whether the passengers were wearing life vests at the time of the accident. Do cruise ships in Hungary normally provide life jackets to passengers? Isn't there a law that mandates provision of life jackets... given the fact that there are hundreds of cruise ships operating on the Danube river everyday.
Q3. The Korean government has confirmed that the cruise boat capsized near a bridge as a much larger cruise ship collided with it just moments before docking. Any updates on why the collision occurred?
Q4. Heavy rain have caused strong currents which, of course, made circumstances unfavorable for passenger ferries. But we heard that all cruise ships and ferries were operating as usual. What do you make of that?
Q5. Many here in Korea are wondering why the boat sank at such a fast speed, taking away eight lives and leaving many others missing. Are you hearing anything on that?
Q6. Is this kind of accident rare in Budapest? How are the Hungarian people reacting to this?
