Anna lives alone with her dog. Each morning, she dissects the content of her mailbox. One day, among the advertisements, she receives a big yellow envelope with a letter inside, suggesting to order her ideal man by catalogue. Anna answers the letter and dreams of the end of her loneliness. The next day, Anna receives a tiny package in his mailbox containing a plastic inflatable doll. Then begins a rather particular life with Paul, the inflatable doll...

Anna vit seule avec son chien dans une petite maison de cité et s'ennuie. Elle espère rompre sa solitude avec Paul, une poupée gonflable. Pour sauver Paul des griffes de son chien jaloux, Anna est obligée de sortir de chez elle. Elle se rend compte que la poupée gonflable ne résoudra pas son besoin de contacts et parle enfin à quelqu'un: son facteur.
