Proportion of renewable energy reaches a record high of 7 percent of total power generation in Q1

In the first quarter this year, renewable energy made up a record-high proportion of South Korea's total power generation... at seven-and-a-half percent.
According to Korea Electric Power Corporation, renewable was up 2 percentage points from a year before.
The government's been trying to get rid of coal-fired power plants in favor of more eco-friendly sources.
Coal accounted for almost 40 percent, a decline of 5 percent from a year earlier.
LNG was down too, by 3 percent, to 26 percent of the total.
The governent aims to get renewables up to 20 percent by 2030.
