Janelle Monae Set to Provide Music for 'Lady and the Tramp' Monae will create new music for the upcoming live-action Disney remake. The singer and actress is already voicing
the Pekingese dog named Peg in the reboot
of the 1955 animated movie. But it has now been revealed she will lend
her voice to the production's soundtrack too. Monae will perform two original songs for the film, and her artist collective, Wondaland, is also "reinventing" the "Siamese Cat Song." The song has long been considered an
offensive representation of Asian culture. She added that although the film is set in 1910 and has a blues-ragtime vibe, her personal sound will be represented.
