Mozambique's disaster management institute says the death toll from Tropical Cyclone Kenneth has climbed to 38.
This cyclone is the strongest to hit Mozambique since records began and the second most powerful tropical storm to hit southeast Africa in five weeks.
Experts fear the slow-moving but powerful cyclone could continue to dump torrential rains on an area devastated by Cyclone Idai that killed 750 people across southern Africa.
Nearly 3,400 homes have been destroyed and more than 18-thousand displaced by Tropical Cyclone Kenneth.
