Activists attached to the group Extinction Rebellion have staged a "die-in" in a Waitrose store in King's Cross this afternoon (April 26).

The group, who have held multiple protests around the capital over a 10-day-period, which ended last night in Marble Arch.

The group, who targeted the supermarket regarding the effect that industry has on the environment, acted as if they were dead in the aisles of the store.

Ryan Hand, who lives nearby was in the shop, he encountered the protesters on his way home from work.

Hand told Newsflare: "[I] walked to the fruit and veg aisle - and - BOOM there they were."

He explained that children were handing out flyers but he was under the impression that they didn't know why and could possibly have been coerced.

"People were laughing and the security guard who worked there didn't really know what to do." he later added.
