US$ 9.1 mil. necessary for food assistance programs in N. Korea: UN

The UN's food agency says.... it needs 9-point-1 million U.S. dollars to carry out food assistance programs in North Korea for the next six months.
The organization's monthly report on North Korea says... the World Food Programme plans to spend.... 28-point-4 million dollars in total,... but already has 19-point-3 million dollars left from last year.
The report added.... that international sanctions are taking their toll on the programs,... making it difficult for distributing necessary items.
The WFP says.... it has provided 1-thousand-5-hundred tons of food to 46-thousand people in the North in February.
The body has been carrying out nutrition programs for children and pregnant women in the North since 1995.
