A Swedish teenager has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize after kick-starting a global campaign against climate change.
16-year-old Greta Thunberg was nominated by three Norwegian MPs.
She began a solo protest in Sweden last August but has since inspired students around the globe to join her cause.
Her nomination also comes a day ahead of a global strike where thousands of young people will rally in several cities across 105 countries.
Thunberg said she was honored and very grateful for the nomination.
If she wins, she will become the youngest person to receive the prestigious prize.
The winner of the Nobel Peace Prize will be announced in October.
