After booking my flight to Costa Rica, I notice that only 1 of the monthly milongas fits my weekschedule.
Finding contact with the local organizers one of them is so kind to do an extra FREE milonga.
Then suddenly these milongas are cancelled because someone took up the idea to organize a festival around the weekend.
No program or any prizes indicated.
None of the
questions get any response and the prizes,
finally published 2 days before, being US
$20 per milonga, are many times higher than usual.
Information only provided by
contacting the organizer.
I
n US dollars it might look less but it's a lot of money if you ask me.
Just like an information desk at the entrance of a path through the forest, where I asked the busdriver to drop me,
demanding US$12 entrance fee.
Costa Rica seems to have more in common with the US.
Smart meters, The way of greeting (hugging girls/touching knockles men), and the food.
Yes! Muchas Gorditas :-) A homeless guy is even trying to sell me an apple in order to buy a hamburger.
Of course I am talking about the capital San Jose.
Like in any capital, capitalists, in this case abusing the mainly poor people, from which some feel okay overcharging the rich tourists,
are more common than people like (hopefully) you and me.
They are the ones that seemingly represent their country, nicknamed by neighbouring countries as "cucarachas finas" (elegant cockroches)
The good news is, that these people, usually making a living of their hobby, are not to blame.
These are usually magnificently skilled people that are capable of many beautiful things and not likely to change their habits.
It is the people that blindly look up to them, supporting things that they wouldn'
t support if they would have a clear understanding of scam and political language as well as what they really value in life.
