Michal Prasek’s body was found inside the animal's homemade cage by his father, according to BBC, who told local media it had been locked from inside.
Prasek owned a pair of lions that he kept for breeding purposes although he didn’t have the required permits, local media reported. Police shot both animals in order to get to Prasek.
The 33-year-old caused a stir in his village when he bought the male lion from Slovakia in 2016, according to Reuters.
