Fortress Delhi for Prime Minister's address, Sixty thousand personnel guarding capital

With the PM's speech set to be today's highlight, security forces are taking no chances by turning Delhi into a fortress. Delhi police have covered the Capital with a multi-layered security with over 40,000 personnel deployed across the city to keep a hawk-eyed vigil against any possible terror strike. Over 12,000 of these personnel, drawn from paramilitary forces and Delhi Police, have been deployed in high security areas, especially in and around the Red Fort from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nationafter unfurling the tricolour.
