National Executive Meet: Resolution passed to support PM Modi's push for simultaneous polls

After the Prime Minister Narendra Modi mooted the idea of One Nation One Poll and even the President backed the push, the Bharatiya Janata Party in its National Executive Meet adopted a resolution to support the call for simultaneous polls for the Parliament and the State Assemblies. The resolution said, 'the National Executive lends its full support to PM’s another path-breaking initiative in the Electoral Reforms arena by calling for simultaneous polls to central and state legislatures. The executive opines that such a move together with several other important reforms would pave way for cleaner and healthier electoral practises in the country.' The BJP also called for a wider debate on PM Modi’s call among the political parties, intelligentsia and the voters at large on the issue of One Nation One Polls.
