Bypoll results: BJP is leading in four seats, SP leading in seven

Trends coming in at 9.30 am has shown the Samajwadi Party is leading in seven seats while the BJP is leading in four. The BJP had put forward BJP MP Yogi Adityanath as its campaign leader, and controversial remarks made by Adityanath did evoke strong political reactions.

After five rounds of counting, the BJP stood in third place after the SP and the Congress in at least three of the nine seats.

The stage is all set for the results of bypolls for three Lok Sabha and 33 Assembly constituencies spread across 10 states where bypolls were held on September 13. The three Lok Sabha seats are in Vadodara (Gujarat), vacated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mainpuri (Uttar Pradesh) and Medak (Telangana) while 11 assembly constituencies are in UP, nine in Gujarat, four in Rajasthan, two in West Bengal, three in Assam, one each in Tripura, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.
