Not only several original witness statements, even the original case diaries of the 2002 hit-and-run case involving actor Salman Khan are missing, a sessions court heard from the police on Thursday.

Judge D W Deshpande directed former investigating officer in the case Kishan Shengal, who retired as an assistant commissioner of police, to be present in court at the next hearing to throw light on the missing documents. The court adjourned the matter to September 12, the third delay over the missing papers.
