A five months old baby who weighs nearly 1.5 kilograms has been surviving in a thermocol

box instead of an incubator since he was turned away by KEM and Nair hospitals.

The baby was born to Ramesh Chauhan, 35, who works at an artificial flower store and his wife Aruna on October 1. One month premature child was delivered at the Alliance hospital in Nalla Sopara. After the birth of the toddler, the doctors recommended a neonatal ICU admission of the baby to the parents.

The child also suffers from thyroid-related complications which are highly risky as per the expert doctors.

According to doctors, the child was highly prone to infections and transmissible diseases. The hospital fee per day was Rs. 8000 where as the monthly salary of Ramesh is just Rs. 9500. The couple also have a daughter.
