Uttar Pradesh Elections 2017: SP-Congress-BJP slug it out; who will win the mandate?

Voting for the 7th phase of Elections in Uttar Pradesh has begun. A total of 40 seats spread over seven districts including Ghazipur, Jaunpur and Varanasi are up for grabs. The main focus in this phase is on Varanasi, the Lok Sabha constituency of PM Narendra Modi. The PM had camped in Varanasi for three days conducting roadshows, rallies, visiting temples and interacting with people. The constituency also witnessed a roadshow by the face of SP-Congress Alliance, Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav. A total of 1.41 crore voters, including 64.76 lakh women are expected to cast their franchise in the last phase. The BJP is contesting 32 seats and its allies Apna Dal and SBSP are contesting on 4 seats each. The BSP has fielded its nominees for all seats. While SP p is contesting 31 seats, its ally the Congress is in race for the remaining 9 seats.
