Its Janmashtami and the political parties of Maharashtra are facing the dilemma of following tradition or uphold the SC guidelines for Dahi Handi. The Supreme Court has refused to raise the height of Dahi Handi over 20 feet and banned children below the age of 18 in participating in the event. But politics peaks over the ruling, the MNS has dared the Mumbai Police to interfere in the celebrations and Raj Thackeray said that celebrations for Dahi Handi will continue as per tradition. Daring to violate SC order, MNS has issued directives that Dahi Handi celebrations will be followed in the traditional way. NCP on the other hand has hit out at MNS for their attempts to woo Maharashtra voters.
