Saradha chit-fund Scam: Mamata announced a corpus of Rs.500 cr for compensation

Four months after she announced a Rs 500 crore corpus to refund money to depositors who had invested in the Ponzi schemes floated by dubious Saradha Group, Mamata Banerjee is now in a fix. With over 17 lakh depositors' applying for compensation, her populist remark is now stuck in financial and procedural quagmires.
