NewsX: Vijayamma will begin her indefinite fast for a United Andhra

YSR Congress Party honorary President YS Vijayamma will begin her indefinite fast in Guntur to protest Centre's decision to carve out separate Telangana from Andhra Pradesh. Vijayamma had earlier planned to undertake the fast in Vijayawada. However, the police authorities did not give permission to the party saying that the election code of conduct was in force in the district.
Vijayamma is wife of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Rajashekar Reddy. Y S Vijayamma found herself at the forefront of politics after the tragic and sudden demise of her husband YS Rajashekar Reddy in 2009.
