Gujarat govt misused state funds: CAG

Trouble brews for Modi's Government. The Comptroller Auditor General has released a damning report, pointing to several irregularities in ulitization of state funds. The Gujarat government gave special benefits of Rs 521 crores to Adani and other corporate houses. It also gave Rs 238 crores benefit in land allocation to Essar. CAG also revealed that the state exempted Rs 128 crores stamp duty to L and T. A committee, headed by the Chief Secretary accorded land to Ford, at a cheaper value. But the Committee has no authority to fix the rate in the first place. Gujarat government has failed to produce the utilization certificate for using Rs 9066crore fund before the CAG.
