Was all-women bank really needed?

It's been 8 days since Finance Minister P. Chidambaram announced the setting up of a public sector bank exclusively for women in his budget speech. Many have already begun to wonder if the move is mere tokenism in a pre-election year. It's time women's issues stop being a mere poll plank and impetus lies on our politicians to come good on their promises.
