Govt is eavesdroping, tapping phones on MHA orders

No one in the country can claim that his phone is not being tapped. The Home Ministry tapped phone calls of over 10,000 people across the country in just a single month. About 1100 emails were also tapped simultaneously Of these, 5080 were fresh phones tapped and 4191 were continuation of old tap orders. Only 531 phone taps were done under emergency orders. The information has come to light on the basis of a meeting of the review committee constituted under the order of the supreme court regarding interception of telephones. In fact, maximum phone tap orders were at the behest of the Intelligence Bureau, followed by Delhi Police and then state intelligence.
