Mumbai: HC notice to govt on PIL over drinking age

The Bombay high court has refused to stay a government notification issued less than two years ago that had raised the legal age for consumption of hard liquor from 21 to 25. The court, which was hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) filed in September 2011 by Bollywood actor Imran Khan and brother-in-law Vedant Malik, who is an assistant film director, directed the state government to file its reply by April 15.
