SC to hear 2 PILs on rape cases, women safety today

The Supreme Court would today hear matters related to setting up of fast track courts for speedy trial in rape cases and effective implementation of existing laws for safety of women. The PIL seeks implmentation of measures to make women feel safe and secure and deterrent punishment to the offenders. But, the most striking relief she sought from the apex court was "to suspend the membership and privileges of tainted MPs and MLAs, who are charge sheeted for rape and murder".
