Govt to prepare national database of rapists, make it public - NewsX

In one of the significant fallouts of the protests over the Delhi gang rape incident. The government has decided to name and shame rapists across the country. It has decided to make a public data base of all the rape convicts along with their photographs, names and addresses. The database will be started in Delhi, with all the details being uploaded on the Delhi Police website first. Subsequently the plan will cover all the states and the Union Territories, with the websites of state police forces also carrying them.
