Even before the dust could settle down on Mamata Banerjee's comment that more freedom for youngsters was behind the increase in rapes, comes news of yet another shocking incident in Bengal. A teenage girl was raped and set on fire in Baruipur in South 24 Parganas on Wednesday. The 14-year-old victim is battling for life at Kolkata's SSKM Hospital. Police have arrested three people and will try them on charges of attempt to murder and rape. The girl is battling for life with 65 per cent burns.
