Labourers call off strike in Nashik onion market

Labourers of Nashik onion market called off their strike for demanding a hike in their wages on Tuesday. The labourers had given July 10 as a deadline to the authorities to meet their demands.

Onion traders, who supported the labourers and themselves went on strike, also called off their strike.

The labourers were demanding to increase their wages from Rs 2.90 per bag to Rs 3.20. The strike had hampered the transportation of onions from the market to various locations across the country.
