Supreme Court directs NTPC to cut power in Delhi for non-payment of dues

The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed power distribution company BSES in Delhi to pay Rs 690 crore to NTPC by May 31 for the power purchased.

The Apex Court further added that non-payment of the dues will lead to vacation of stay on disconnection notice served to BSES by NTPC. Few days back NTPC had seeked the Apex Court's permission to cut power in Delhi and had accused the major power suppliers in Delhi BSES of not paying for the power distribution.
