India News : Nonsense, says Rahul Gandhi about ordinance shielding criminal MP & MLAs.
India News Editor --in --Chief Deepak Chaurasia has an explosive debate in his programme 'Tonight with Deepak Chaurasia' on Rahul Gandhi statement on ordinance shielding criminal MP & MLAs. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi may have agreed with them in criticizing the ordinance protecting convicted MPs but the BJP leaders came down heavily on him for the manner in which he did it.
"What audacity!" reacted BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman. "What the hell! What was Rahul Gandhi all this while? Is he trying to send the message that the Family can do no wrong and it all the prime minister's fault? What about the honour of the prime minister whose cabinet cleared the ordinance? Manmohan Singh is not the prime minister for the family. He is the prime minister of the country and he cannot be insulted, especially when he is not even in the country," she said. For once Manmohan Singh was getting sympathy from BJP leaders. He was not alone. Even party's communication in charge Ajay Maken got some.
Rahul Gandhi had barged into the press conference of Maken, who at that precise point was defending the Ordinance. Rahul termed it as "nonsense" that should be torn and thrown away. "If it is nonsense, then he should answer, who dumped that nonsense on people of India. First, the Congress-led UPA introduces the Bill in Parliament, which gets referred to the Standing Committee. And while it is being discussed there, the government brings in the Ordinance. It is a farce being perpetrated on the country," added Sitharaman.
