President Trump believes that the Democratic Party has been taken over by young "crazy" people. Before departing on his Thursday trip to the United States' southern border, he told reporters: "I really believe that '[Democrats] don't care about crime." "They've been taken over by a group of young people who, frankly, in some cases — I've been watching — I actually think they're crazy," Trump added. "But they've been taken over by a group that is so far left. I really don't think they care about crime."
Trump's comments come amid his efforts to get Congress to approve $5.7 billion for his wall plan along the US-Mexico border.
"The Democrats want Billions of Dollars for Foreign Aid, but they don't want to spend a small fraction of that number on properly securing our Border," he wrote in a recent tweet. "Figure that one out!"
