In Bharat, Agriculture is not used in the same terms as agriculture, blood and virus culture.
Here: Bharat’s Culture – Agriculture or Our culture – Agriculture.
Our development has taken in such a way that we understand, “our culture is Agriculture”. All our festivities are as per the timings of agriculture. It is designed for two crops and rest in between. Starting takes place with the prayer of the land on Vaishakhi, and festivity remains till Ram Naomi in March-April.
Here most of the villagers derive pleasure by producing and preparing their own food. It’s like saying, “having the cake and eating it too”. Here cow clan is offered prayer at least thrice in the year, and having cow clan in household is not only a necessity but pride that too even in this age of tractor and mechanized farming. With the onset of industrialization, a philosophy was developed which started the process of making farm product cheaper and farmers poorer and this suppression was first materialized with the arms and ammunition in Britain and by Britishers now it is being carried out with the global economic gimmicks. Previously the farmer used to be a major tax payer of the state, but later on the farmers have been sucked by taxes in British goverance.
After democratic set up even by giving tax holiday and subsidies to the farmers, condition of farmers further deteriorated, strange, paradoxical, but true. Though farmers are the major contributors of green, white and yellow revolution, but condition of them, is like producer of the cake and not having the cake, what to talk of eating it.
We have dual responsibility towards agriculture, first as a cultural base, second as economic base.
1. No country can survive for more than hundred years without agriculture as its base. Industrial revolution frazzle, dazzle without good monsoon (industrialization will reach to its zenith within few years.)
2. We must act in a way that the farmer again raised to the wherein they feel comfortable and feel to contribute in national tax.
3. All helps which act as crutches must be removed. To help farmer, subsidy on tractor is a joke. Presently the number of tractors is such that even if no tractor is introduced not alone in India but most of the part in the farming sector for next ten year, it will hardly create any hindrance. Now sale of tractor is forced, manipulated and unnecessary. During green revolution land was increased by cutting trees and jungles has started giving negative impact- area of desert is started increasing, soil erosion has increased and caused depletion of river bed(in width and depth) which ultimately resulting in frequent famine, flood, reduced ground water level. Ratio of forest area and area for water has to be three times than the area for farming and human inhabitation.
