Artist/Producer Suzi Analogue Is Fighting to Make Electronic Music Inclusive

Suzi Analogue started writing music at age eight — now she’s fighting to make electronic music more inclusive.
“I come from a marginalized place in media, in the industry. I'm a woman of color and I’m underestimated. However I'm empowered by my community, by the things that I can do, by putting out music,” she explained. “So the sound. And the vision that we have can bring us together instead of dividing us.”
The artist said she always had a drive to foster and elevate her music.
“I wanted to keep getting better and better at it. So I always had that commitment. To experiment with a lot of different sounds. And from there it caught attention of different people different communities of people I was meeting online who also were huge music lovers or music creators and I was just sharing on different networks...Hip hop chat room. Talking about top 10 MCs all those things,” she explained. “And. Then in real life I was also meeting musicians. So the community that I created in making music, that really got me going and it kept me inspired to start to put my music out. It's one thing to make music but it's another thing to actually put it out.”
She has since taught production master courses at Yale University and in Amsterdam. As a cultural diplomat to the USA, she taught upcoming beats makers in Uganda’s capital — and said she’s just getting started.
