Lindsey Graham Says DNA Test Would Probably Show He’s ‘Iranian' Which Would ‘Be, Like, Terrible’

Senator Lindsey Graham on Tuesday joked about DNA testing.

Senator Lindsey Graham on Tuesday appeared on 'Fox & Friends' and spoke about DNA tests like the one that recently revealed there is a "strong evidence" of Senator Elizabeth Warren having distant Native American ancestry. "I will take a DNA test. I've been told my grandmother may be part Cherokee Indian. It may be just talk. You will find out in a couple weeks," he commented. Graham also said, "I'll probably be Iranian. That'd be, like, terrible." Brian Kilmeade, one of the hosts, in a possible attempt to smooth out the sharp edges of that comment, quickly stated, "great people, just bad leaders."  Graham's comments came one day after Warren revealed her DNA test results to the public. CNN reports that President Trump, who has long mocked the senator over her claims of Native American ancestry, originally responded to the news by saying, "Who cares?"  He has since shown that he does, and apparently, quite passionately. In a Tuesday morning series of tweets, the president said: "Pocahontas (the bad version), sometimes referred to as Elizabeth Warren, is getting slammed. She took a bogus DNA test and it showed that she may be 1/1024, far less than the average American. Now Cherokee Nation denies her, 'DNA test is useless.' Even they don't want her. Phony!"  "Now that her claims of being of Indian heritage have turned out to be a scam and a lie, Elizabeth Warren should apologize for perpetrating this fraud against the American Public," Trump also noted. "Harvard called her 'a person of color' (amazing con), and would not have taken her otherwise!"  Moments later, he added: "Thank you to the Cherokee Nation for revealing that Elizabeth Warren, sometimes referred to as Pocahontas, is a complete and total Fraud!"
