With just over three weeks until the U.S. midterm elections, the Democratic Party is still leading opinion polls.
A new ABC News/Washington Post poll shows Democratic House candidates still lead Republicans 53 to 42 percent among voters.
However the GOP is closing the gap with the help of President Trump's improved approval rating.
Also, the share of voters who want Congress to be controlled by Democrats has fallen from 60 to 54 percent in the space of a few months.
