Six Children In Minnesota Confirmed To Have A Rare Polio-Like Illness

According to Business Insider, state health officials in Minnesota have confirmed six children have been diagnosed with a rare and potentially deadly polio-like disease. Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM) typically infects one child per year in Minnesota, causing alarm that such a large group has presented with the illness at the same time.
All six patients in Minnesota are under the age of 10 and have been diagnosed with AFM since September 20.
