Wilmington Street Collapsed in Hurricane Florence

Wilmington, North Carolina, was practically cut off from the rest of the state after Hurricane Florence came ashore, flooding roadways and making travel nearly impossible. In some places, streets collapsed, as seen in this clip shot September 18.This video was shot in a community surrounded by water on three sides – the Intracoastal Waterway, Pages Creek, and Howe Creek. Water rushed in through a marina on the Intracoastal and undercut a loop road that encircles the community, eventually collapsing it. Credit: Drew Massey via Storyful
