According to a report by Reuters, in a dramatic turnaround, President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, will cooperate with a federal investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. After months of refusing to assist Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s inquiry into Russian interference, Manafort reportedly took a plea deal on Friday, agreeing to cooperate in exchange for reduced charges. Reuters reports that it remains unclear what information Manafort could offer prosecutors. White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said in a statement, “This had absolutely nothing to do with the president or his victorious 2016 presidential campaign. It is totally unrelated.”
