Many colleges and other "safe spaces" are taking down 9-11 memorials and/or disallowing any remembrance ceremonies because they might offend Muslims. Is it because the sooner we forget, the sooner it can happen again?

Is it offensive to the Germans that we have Holocaust memorials, movies, and remembrances? Is it offensive to The Young Turks to mention the Armenian Genocide? (Obviously, they are quite proud of themselves) We're tearing down Civil War memorials, so should we get rid of the rest? Forgetting is NOT forgiving. Denying is NOT solving. Rewriting history does NOT protect us from repeating it. Dividing us in a time of mourning does nothing but make the division wider.
I do not care if it offends you, we are allowed to grieve.
