Multiple people were killed and others were seriously injured Thursday, August 30, in a crash involving a commercial passenger bus and a semi-truck along Interstate 40 in New Mexico.

Television footage of the crash site showed the front of the bus crupled after impact, and debris scattered over the highway. The bus was heading from Albuquerque to Phoenix with 47 passengers.

More than 33 have been transported to local area hospitals and some are in critical condition, according to local media.

At least four people have been confirmed dead.
