Fans at Katy Perry's Auckland concert at Spark Arena on August 21 weren't just treated to a night of song and dance – they witnessed a heartwarming proposal, planned with the help of the singer.

In the video, Katy Perry steps aside and lets a man dressed in a 'Left Shark' costume, made famous during Perry's Superbowl halftime show in 2015, take the mic.

"You've found a better version of me that I hadn't really seen," Grant said to Stef before getting down on one knee.

As she says yes, the crowd erupts. Perry then tells the pair to stay on stage while she dedicates the next song to them.

According to the filmer, Stef did not know that Grant was in the country, and she was at the concert with other Katy Perry fans. Since Grant spoke to Perry at a meet and greet a few weeks before, he had been emailing the singer's representative to make this proposal happen.
