Pacaraima Townspeople Burn Venezuelan Migrant Possessions in Roadblock

Residents of Pacaraima, Brazil, a small town on the border with Venezuela protested the influx of migrants into their town by destroying camps and burning items on August 19, according to reports.This video, filmed by a officer in the Polícia Rodoviária Federal (Brazil’s Federal Highway Police, PRF), shows a smoking roadblock of various items, including what appears to be a tent, across Brazil’s Highway 174 that passes through the town and continues into Venezuela. The photos, which show uniformed PRF officers, show cleanup of another roadblock in which tires were burned.News reports said the townspeople attacked the migrants and there were instances of violence.
