Westminster crash: Police names Salih Khater as terror suspect

British Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, confirmed that a 29 year-old British citizen had been detained after driving a car at pedestrians and cyclists near the Houses of Parliament in London.

A terror alert was raised and the Westminster Bridge closed down on Tuesday morning after a car crashed into barriers outside the Houses of Parliament in London, injuring at least two people. London’s Metropolitan Police said Counter-Terrorism Command was leading the investigation and they found that the suspect is a 29-year-old British citizen of Sudanese origin who studied at Sudan University of Science and Technology.

On Tuesday, social media was abuzz with user generated posts, pictures and videos of police and ambulances taking over the road adjacent to the Houses of Parliament at the security barrier which injured a number of pedestrians.
