Former Chungcheongnam-do Province Governor An Hee-jung has been found not guilty of sex abuse crimes by Seoul Western District Court in a hearing this morning.
An was indicted in April on charges of sexually assaulting his former secretary multiple times from July last year to February this year.
In the last hearing in July, prosecutors had sought four years in prison.
However, the court did not accept the prosecution's claim, saying there is a lack of evidence to support the charges of sexual violence.
An, who was one of the main contenders for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, resigned in March following the allegations against him.
