Filling Pieces Steps into Brand's First Ready to Wear Collection

Filling Pieces broke the mold when it released its first footwear collection -- the range exhibited sleek, minimal designs that hit the perfect price point between casual and luxury. Founder Guillaume Philibert has also come along way since the early days of FP and now he has his eyes set on another mission. As an extension of his footwear brand, Philibert has just released Filling Pieces's first ready-to-wear collection. The range mirrors the on-trend sneaker designs the imprint produces with bright and earthy colors. The range also runs the gamut of outerwear, trousers, tees, hoodies and more, all meant for both sporty and street-ready looks.

HYPEBEAST caught up with Philibert to find more about his inspirations and what urged him to finally design clothing. He mentions that his studies in architecture and being a fan of Pharrell and Nigo was the starting point. He also points out that with the venture to clothing, FP is outgrowing its studio and that new plans will be made to accommodate their expansion. Importantly, in terms of design, Philibert equates his design philosophies to that of food. "A good friend of mine said that within this industry, a lot of brands like to fry cook. You know? Deep frying," Philibert says. "I'm just here to slow cook for the longterm and that's just one of the goals."
