Civil Disobedience Action at the Hall of Records in Newark, NJ - Remaining Arrests
  • 6 years ago
As Whit mentions that the remainder of the Essex Eight is considering blocking the entrance, Aboub walks up and sits down squarely in the middle of the entrance. The rest of the group, consisting of Whit, Mary, Yael and Matt, quickly join him.

Sgt. Mike Minichini warns that the people practicing civil disobedience will be arrested. He then refuses to comment about the violence carried out by deputies earlier when Brenda Flanagan of NJTV inquires about it. Later on, Minichini promises to pass a message to Joe D. that the Essex Eight want to have a word. In the video he later admits he hasn't done so. It is fairly clear that he never did so.

The protestors are arrested to chants of "Where's Joe D.?" The Sheriff's Office of Essex County showed on whose side they are on. They are on the side of Joe D., ICE and Trump. Jobs and Equal Rights for All will continue the resistance until the ICE contract is broken and our platform is carried out or Joe D. is unseated by our candidate.
