Disney's CINDERELLA 2 Teaser Trailer Concept
  • 6 years ago
This is my FAN MADE trailer for a sequel to the 2015 live-action adaptation of Disney's Cinderella. I really think there should be sequels, spin-offs, and an overall cinematic universe for the recent faithful Disney live action adaptations such as Cinderella, The Jungle Book, and Beauty and the Beast, as well as the upcoming Aladdin, The Lion King, Mulan, and The Little Mermaid. As long as Disney can come up with strong new stories to justify the return of the characters, I think it would be BEYOND exciting (and long overdue) to expand upon them even further and bring all the classic animated characters together on the big screen. That would be the most magical thing to ever occur.

A Disney Live Action Cinematic Universe in the same vein as the Marvel Universe?? Yes please. That's what movies were made for--escaping into exciting, magical worlds that you'd never thought you'd get to see. Imagine Emma Watson's Belle, Lily James's Cinderella, and Liu Yifei's Mulan coming together on the big screen in live action. Tears. If you noticed, I snuck Emma Watson as Belle into this trailer because with all of the live action films coming out, this is the perfect opportunity for Disney to bring the beloved Disney princesses (and characters in general) together.

Anywho, imma talk about the video. Though I loved Kenneth Branagh's Cinderella (2015) for pioneering the magical wave of FAITHFUL live action adaptations of beloved Disney animations (Maleficent and Burton's Alice in Wonderland are not relevant), I wish it would've FULLY embraced the iconic aspects of the animation like The Jungle Book and especially Beauty & the Beast did. The Jungle Book and Beauty & the Beast both constantly celebrated the animated films (incorporating the music and iconic imagery) while Cinderella seemed a bit timid to fully embrace the animation. Don't get me wrong--it definitely revived the spirit of the animation and stuck to the simplicity of the story, but it sort of disregarded some of the iconic elements. The iconic castle? The look of the characters? The songs?

I don't know about you but I sure as hail wanted to see the Bibbity-Bobbity-Boo and the Sing Sweet Nightingale musical sequences brought to life. Don't act like seeing those scenes brought to life wouldn't emotionally destroy you. Now I'll never get to see what they look like in live action. I don't want these films to be shot-by-shot exactly like the animations--I want them to be detailed explorations of them. Nostalgia is an essential feeling and you will find freshness in expansion, rather than reconstruction.
