Endurance swimmer passes Land's End on quest to round Britain

Endurance athlete Ross Edgley has swum past Land's End in Cornwall on his "Great British Swim" challenge, completing about 400 miles of his 2,000-mile record attempt to be the first person to swim around mainland Great Britain.
Having left Margate on 1 June 2018, he passed the Cornish landmark with his support boat and crew on day 29 of the feat, with friend kite surfers and Big Wave surf legend Andrew Cotton hydroplaning around him on foil boards.
He is hoping to complete the circumnavigation in 100 days by swimming up to 12 hours a day.
Challenging sea conditions, sores from wetsuit rub, waterlogged skin peeling off and being stung in the face by jellyfish have all been overcome on Ross' journey.
The occasional company of dolphins, kayakers and other swimmers have helped alleviate the loneliness of the long-distance swimmer.
