Malacca CM drops official residence for government quarters

Newly minted Malacca Chief Minister Adly Zahari said that he will not be moving into Seri Bendahara, the official residence of the Malacca chief minister.

He said he is staying at Bukit Peringgit, not the old chief minister's house, but at a guesthouse in the government quarters.

In an interview with Malaysiakini he revealed that the previous state government was paying more than RM30,000 a month for the electricity bill of Seri Bendahara.

Adly said there are plans to use Seri Bendahara as a government venue to hold events or meetings and by minimising the usage of Seri Bendahara it would result in a lot of savings for the state government.
